Spring in New Mexico is a wonderful time of year when the Prickly Pear cactus show their true colors in amazing display of delicate flowers.

In this abstract view, I would describe this as Art Deco style Car Art. Bold hot color and sleek lines just pull you into this image.

Mama Gamble's Quail was busy watching out for her family as she was being quite patient with me and a good photographic subject. As soon as I slowly backed away Papa Quail and all of the babies popped up out of the rocks and the entire family strolled off.

A window into the past, 'Standing in the Shadow of Time' reminds me of the classic photography I grew up with. Located in the Southwest New Mexico ghost town of Shakespeare, this tugs at your heart strings as you can feel a bit of the past come to life and you drift off, transported back in time for the moment.

The high desert comes alive with color as the monsoon rains arrive. One of the most spectacular events is the Agave in full bloom, a most amazing sight. The Agave use all of its energy to sprout up its stalk of blooms, boldly, high above the plant, 0nly to have the Agave wither and die after completing this extraordinary fete of nature. Forgotten by time, "Old Blur" and other automobiles were abandoned along a creek bed for erosion control I've been told, in an area known now as the Car Park in Silver City NM. You can't help but wonder the life this car must have seen in its day, the excitement someone must have experiences buying this car new and how it made it to its final resting place here.
