Fed up with Ido, Alita registers herself as a Hunter-Warrior, then she and Hugo enter the Kansas Bar to ask other Hunter-Warriors in helping her take down Grewishka, but they refuse, as Grewishka is not on the wanted list. Suddenly, an upgraded Grewishka storms into the bar and challenges Alita to a rematch, revealing he has been sent by his boss, Nova, to destroy her. Despite her courage and combat skills, Alita's body is sliced up by Grewishka's bladed fingers before she blinds him with her left arm, and Ido, Hugo, and another Hunter-Warrior force him to retreat. Ido transplants Alita in the Berserker body, which automatically interfaces with her system.

Kansas Bar is a pivotal location in the film, Alita: Battle Angel, previously know as Bar Kansas in the Battle Angel Alita manga it's based on. Confused yet? The bar was founded by Master and was located in the underground of The Scrapyard, also known as Scrap Iron City. It was part of a block of buildings that surrounded a common courtyard and included an apartment complex. Alita and Shumira worked here before it was destroyed by Zapan. After she retired from motorball, Alita began living on her own in the apartment complex at Bar Kansas.

Panzer Kunst (パンツァークンスト) (more properly Panzerkunst, German for "armor art") is the first martial art to anticipate combat in zero gravity, originating on Mars. It is the fighting style used by Alita and with the exception of a handful of practitioners is nearly extinct. The names of all Panzer Kunst moves and disciplines are in German and practitioners are called Künstler, German for "artist". Panzer Kunst seeks oneness between the senses and is commonly referred to as the strongest of the cyborg martial arts. Especially effective at disabling and destroying larger opponents, it is the basis of other space martial arts such as Space Karate.
