VF-1 Wolfpack - Fighter Squadron 1 (VF-1) was a fighter squadron of the United States Navy. Originally established on 14 October 1972 it was disestablished on 30 September 1993. It was the fifth US Navy squadron to be designated VF-1.[1] Known as the "Wolfpack" the squadron saw combat during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. The squadron was de-activated and its personnel reassigned in 1993 when its carrier, USS Ranger, was decommissioned.

Messerschmitt AG was a German share-ownership limited, aircraft manufacturing corporation named after its chief designer Willy Messerschmitt from mid-July 1938 onwards, and known primarily for its World War II fighter aircraft, in particular the Bf 109 and Me 262. The company survived in the post-war era, undergoing a number of mergers and changing its name from Messerschmitt to Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm before being bought by Deutsche Aerospace (DASA, now part of Airbus) in 1989.

Was a German manufacturer of civil and military aircraft before and during World War II. Many of the company's successful fighter aircraft designs were slight modifications of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190. It is one of the predecessor companies of today's Airbus.

Constituted 1 February 1963 in the Regular Army as the 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion and assigned to the 11th Air Assault Division. Activated by elements between 11 February and 18 July 1963 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Relieved from the 11th Air Assault Division, reorganized and redesignatged 227th Aviation Battalion and assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, 1 July 1965. Was a major German aircraft and aircraft engine manufacturer. It produced some of the world's most innovative and best-known airplanes over the course of its fifty-plus year history in Dessau, Germany. It was founded there in 1895 by Hugo Junkers. During World War I, and following the war, the company became famous for its pioneering all-metal aircraft. During World War II the company produced some of the most successful Luftwaffe planes, as well as piston and jet aircraft engines, albeit in the absence of its founder, who had been removed by the Nazis in 1934.

Founded in 1925, Western Airlines was in a tough spot after WWII ended. The airline lacked the financial resources that other big airlines had, but still needed to grow to compete. Rather than chase the competition, they decided to set the bar sky-high. Western introduced pressurized cabins in 1954 and passengers were catered to with filet mignon and seafood, cigars, perfume, and orchids, and even champagne toasts. In 1956 Western added their official “VIB” (very important bird) named Wally, as the airline’s mascot. Wally helped redefine the all first-class in-flight experience and reminded consumers that Western was a premium airline and truly "the only way to fly."
