Floyd's Barbershop serves as the sole barbershop in the fictional small town of Mayberry, North Carolina. Floyd Lawson is the proud proprietor of the shop, and in addition to haircuts and shaves, the shop also serves as a gathering place for many of the men in the town to chat about the goings-on and current events. They often gather there to play checkers and gossip with one another, and women may occasionally enter the barber shop, this is seen as somewhat taboo and is a rare occurrence.

This design was originally created for the 11th Mayberry Meet-up in 2023 but we thought it was fitting to update it to celebrate Don Knotts' 100th birthday on July 21, 2024.

Barney often calls Andy “Ange” on the show as his nickname, but what’s really interesting is that Knotts also called Griffith that in real life. Just combine “Andy” and “Griffith!”

Sanford and Son is an American sitcom television series that aired on NBC from January 14, 1972, to March 25, 1977. It was based on the British sitcom Steptoe and Son, which initially aired on BBC1 in the United Kingdom from 1962 to 1974.

Floyd the Barber was the slow-paced, somewhat absent-minded barber in the series' fictional town of Mayberry. He was born and raised in Mayberry, having descended from one of the town's original settlers, Daniel Lawson. He was a founding member of the town band, served as secretary of the Downtown Businessman's Club, and is a member of The Regal Order of the Golden Door to Good Fellowship.

Howard Terbell McNear (January 27, 1905 – January 3, 1969) was an American stage, screen, and radio character actor. In 1961, McNear was cast as the vague, chatty barber Floyd Lawson on The Andy Griffith Show. In 1963, he suffered a stroke that rendered most of the left side of his body paralyzed. He left the series for nearly a year and a half to recover. Andy Griffith asked McNear to return to the series. McNear agreed despite being unable to walk or stand, and the production crew accommodated him accordingly. Floyd was subsequently seen onscreen either seated or standing with support. Many scenes were shot with him sitting on a bench outside the barber shop, as opposed to trimming hair as before.

Swee'Pea (alternatively spelled Swee'pea and Sweapea on some titles and once called Sweep Pea) is a character in E. C. Segar's comic strip Thimble Theatre / Popeye and in the cartoon series derived from it. His name refers to the flower known as the sweet pea. Before his addition to the animated shorts, the name "Sweet Pea" was a term of affection used by main character Popeye. In the cartoon We Aim to Please, he addressed girlfriend Olive Oyl that way. As the years went on, Swee'Pea apparently aged enough to speak normally, and could throw punches if necessary; however, his appearance remained that of a crawling baby. In the strip for August 17, 1933, Popeye christens Swee'Pea as "Scooner Seawell Georgia Washenting ,
