The Yellow Sign is a symbol first mentioned in Robert W. Chambers' book of horror short stories The King in Yellow (1895). The stories mention the play The King in Yellow, a forbidden work which induces despair and madness in those who read it.. H. P. Lovecraft and many of his imitators were great admirers of Chambers' book and incorporated many of his characters and symbols into their own works. In the latter-day Cthulhu Mythos, the Yellow Sign is the sign of The Great Old One, Hastur, and is used by members of his cult to identify one another.

Necronomicon gate or the Sigil of the gateway or gate of Yog-Sothoth it is a sigil found on the cover of Necronomicon. I read somewhere that this sigil is supposedly used to call forth Cthulhu, the beloved H.P. Lovecraft character. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to call him.

Necronomicon read aloud under the waxing moon. The portal to the world of madness is open. It steps forth with oily tentacles out of the hideous void, like a rift torn into the very heart of chaos and horror. Astonished and mortified, the onlooker closes the book, but the ritual is not yet complete.

When the stars are right, The nightmare corpse-city of R'lyeh…was built in measureless eons behind history by the vast, loathsome shapes that seeped down from the dark stars. There lay great Cthulhu and his hordes, hidden in green slimy vaults.

It’s a perfect design for a hot summer day! I recently read a short story “We All Scream for Ice Cream” by Lou Yardley and it inspired this EYE SCREAM design! It’s an evil looking Ice Cream, complete with eyeballs, horns and some hungry skulls with tentacle tongues. Very creepy and refreshing!

Miskatonic University Library, is located in Arkham, Massachusetts, which figures prominently in many of Lovecraft's works. Miskatonic University's Orne Library is famous for its collection of occult books. The University Library holds one of the very few genuine copies of the Necronomicon.
