*Well you know, you can take the boy away from his planet, but you just can't take the memories of home away from the boy. Everytime I look at this hollovid of the old homestead, I know its just waiting for my return. Its a hard life out there on the rim, we only have a short growing season, the rest of the time is snow & ice. And there's never big markets for Beldon Beans, but still gotta be better than life here in Titan City. But then we go where the work is, not much call for stardrive programers back home. But boy do I ever miss those winter moons on Gibbon's World! Just a photo and some sculpted fractals. And as with all my work, inspired by the great unknown ....Beyond the Bounds of Earth.*

Let's go on an adventure

The following set of images are all about a side trip that I took while visiting Lisbon. It all started with waking up one morning and having a craving for a "good" fresh fish dinner. Someone had recommended a ferry ride across the Tagus River to Casilhas (a small community immediately south of Lisbon on the south bank of the river), with a short walk from the ferry terminal to the end of the path along the shoreline. And that's exactly what I did. The story doesn't end here. Watch out for my images over the coming few weeks to see how things turned out. You will not be disappointed. I definitely wasn't. This image (and the next) are simply close-ups of the previous 2 scenes taken from a high point at the end of the path. More...

We were walking the Sentiero Azzurro, the path that leads to Vernazza from Corniglia in the Cinque Terre region of Italy when we came upon this lovely stone wall with an equally lovely stone doorway. It really didn't look as if it was in regular use anymore as the vegetation beyond was overgrown but that was its charm.

And the story of my craving for fish on that one Lisbon morning continues. As I walk the long walk along the endless path from Casilhas to Boca Do Vento, this is one of the spots that I came across for fine dining overlooking the Tagus River. Even though the location was quite intriguing and the scenery was beautiful, I decided that it wasn't time for lunch yet. And I kept walking. And I'm glad I did. Watch out for the rest of the story in a few more images.
