Bluebells, Pink, White And Blue This is very unusual to see these three combinations of Bluebells together in one single photograph. The pink bluebells are rare, but to see the white version is even more remarkable. This stunning combination of woodland flowers was found outside a house we rented for the week in the Cumbrian Lake District in the UK. Carperby, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Black And White I present to you, one of our favourite places to stay in the UK. The picturesque Yorkshire Dales never disappoints. Carperby is just down the road from the stunning Aysgarth Falls, the iconic waterfalls. There was just so much going on in this image that I converted it to Black And White to simplify the landscape and windswept clouds. Man Mo Temple Incense Coils And Prayers This is One of Hong Kong's most famous urban temples, Man Mo Temple sits on busy Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan. This temple was built by Taoists during the colonial era. One of their gods, the god of literature named Man Cheong, was born in AD 287. The other god, Mo, was born in AD 160. It is said that he fought against oppression and injustice and was killed in 219 at the hands of his enemies. There are other idols there too. The smell from the incense coils hit you as soon as you enter this stunning little temple. The little red tags below the coils are prayers that have been written in Chinese before the coil is lit. Long Meg and Her Daughters The Long Meg monolith and accompanying circle forms one part of a complex of monuments in the Penrith area that includes, as well as the nearby Little Meg circle, a smaller circle seen by William Stukeley in 1725 to the south-west, no longer extant, plus the impressive henge at Mayburgh, a partly destroyed henge at nearby King Arthur's Round Table, and a third, completely destroyed, henge just a few yards to the south of King Arthur's Round Table. The monument is 120yd × 100yd in diameter. Long Meg herself stands 80 ft outside the circle, 20 ft above the farthest stone in the circle, "and is the tallest of the 69 stones at 12ft high and weighing c.9 tons." Helm Crag Above The Village Of Grasmere, Lake District Helm Crag is a fell in the English Lake District situated in the Central Fells to the north of Grasmere. Despite its low height it sits prominently at the end of a ridge, easily seen from the village. This, combined with the distinctive summit rocks which provide the alternative name 'The Lion and the Lamb', makes it one of the most recognised hills in the District. Life In The Fast Lane I don't normally like to have to carry a tripod around with me especially when I am on holiday and it's a bit unfair on my wife having to wait while I set everything up for the perfect shot. I actually went against what I just said and took my best tripod to Hong Kong as I knew there would be a lot of opportunities for night shots. Rock Music Vinyl Collection This is just a small part of my heavy metal vinyl collection. Cuban Cars in Havana I stood with my camera just waiting for a line of old Cuban cars on the corner of hotel Parque Central, Havana. This was harder than you may think as there are quite a few more modern cars and of course tourist buses that seemed to be always in the way of my shot. These cars were lined up at the traffic lights waiting for a green light and I took my shot before they moved. Just behind them is Hotel Inglaterra and the Capitol building which helps to give you a sense of place and makes for the perfect black and white image to frame and place on a prominent place in your house or home. This lady is probably one of the richest people in Havana as every photo earns her 1 Cuk which is more than most of her compatriots earn in a day if not longer. This is one of my favourite photographs from the best place I've ever visited, and wish we had stayed longer in Havana instead of moving to Varadero on an all inclusive resort. Oia Santorini Greek Island Flag Oia is a coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini, a Greek Aegean island. The town has whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water. In a 19th-century mansion, the Naval Maritime Museum has exhibits on local seafaring history, including old figureheads, sailors’ chests and models of old ships. Beach Volleyball Net At Sunset I present you with a bit of colour with this stunning sunset on a beach on the Caribbean resort of Varadero in Cuba. As the sun was setting I used the post of this volleyball net to hide the sun as it was so powerful that it would have blown all the highlights and probably the sensor on my camera.
