The Brahman is a breed of Bos indicus (Zebu) cattle, exported from India to the rest of the world. The Brahman has a distinct large hump over the top of the shoulder and neck, and a loose flap of skin (dewlap) hanging from the neck. Their ears are large and floppy. Despite their huge size, they are known as a docile breed, if handled with kindness from calfhood. They are very smart with minds of their own and a tendency towards stubbornness. I snapped this fine specimen at Blair Drummond Safari Park, near Stirling, Scotland. BEST VIEWED LARGER

The Baobab ( or "upside down" ) tree, seen on Safari in the Tarangire National Park, Tanzania, Africa. Each tree trunk can hold up to 300 litres ( 66 gallons ) of water, and so in drought conditions the Elephants eat the bark to get at the moisture, and in some cases ( like in this photo ) eventually eat a hole in the tree trunk ! The Wild Horse (Equus ferus) is a member of the Horse genus which currently is native only in Asia. The true wild horse is not merely a feral horse like the Mustang; a true wild horse species is one which was never successfully domesticated. Two species or subspecies (taxonomy is debated) of wild horses survived into modern times: The Tarpan or Eurasian Wild Horse (Equus ferus ferus), once native to Europe and Asia, and Przewalski's Horse, also known as the Mongolian Wild Horse or Takhi (classification disputed, either Equus ferus przewalskii or Equus przewalskii), native to Central Asia and the Gobi Desert. This little group of goats were lazing in the shade at Blair Drummond Safari Park, near Stirling, Scotland. Blair Drummond Safari Park opened in 1970 in the grounds of Blair Drummond house, which was purchased by Sir John Kay a Glasgow tea merchant in 1916. Having no sons he passed it to his nephew Sir John Muir father of the present owner Jamie Muir. The house remained a family home until 1977 when it was sold to the Camphill Trust, a charity that cares for people with special needs. The existing late – Victorian house replaced a mansion house built in 1715, which was sited in what is now the giraffe enclosure. Most of the remaining trees in the park date from the period of the earlier house. BEST VIEWED LARGER
