Stairs rips one into the night...

A spiral staircase circles down three floors. Located in the Governor's house of the Waterloo County Gaol, located in Kitchener, Ontario, a retired prison and historic site. Constructed in 1852, it is the oldest government building still-standing in the city. The Governor's House, home of the "gaoler", in a mid-Victorian Italian Villa style, was added in 1878. Recently restored and now used as office space.

Old Vietnamese Wall in Hoi An

We had a photographic city walk in Melbourne, Australia, on 4 January, 2014. This was led by Mieke on her all too brief visit here from Broome. There were a total of about 15 Redbubble photographers. Good fun was had by all, so many thanks Mieke for organising this. This helical staircase is in the State Library of Victoria, an old and very photogenic building. It works much better in B/W.
