Carrera Del Darro - Granada Tapestry

This is the first painting I have completed for several months. I was suffering from arthritis in my finger joints earlier this year which made painting painful. This has eased with the onset of warm weather and I recently visited Granada for a few days to get some fresh inspiration. I love this narrow, cobbled street that runs alongside the River Darro below the old Moorish quarter, the Albaicin. In early summer the trees are full of fresh, green foliage and the sunlight through them casts dappled shadows.
