Akechi Mitsuhide (明智光秀) was a samurai and general who lived during the Sengoku period of Feudal Japan. Mitsuhide was a general under Oda Nobunaga, who then became famous for his rebellion against Nobunaga in 1582, which led to Nobunaga's death at Honnoji in the Honnoji Insident. The kamon of Akechi clan is Tokikikyo (土岐桔梗) or "Japanese bellflower".
