Japanese Brazil - Brazilian Japan Tapestry

Another of my flag mashups, this one is essentially the love child of the Brazilian flag (the famous Auriverde, one of the most iconic and recognizable flags in the world) with the Imperial Japanese flag from the first half of the 20th century. The colour combination lends itself to a very interesting result. What kind of alternative world history could have given birth to this flag? To this day, Brazil is home to the largest Japanese immigrant population outside Japan, and the two cultures blend together quite unexpectedly given how radically different they are on the surface.
