This is an image of the main gate leading to the Eglise Du Dome in Paris. It is part of a building complex known as Les Invalides, which consists of museums and monuments related to the military history of France. Some argue that this is the most recognizable and well-known part of Les Invalides. The building is a gold-domed building now used as a burial site for a number of the country's war heroes, including Napoleon. The dome itself is 107 meters high (or about 350 ft), making it one of the tallest monuments in Paris. It was centrally placed in order to dominate the court of honor, one of 15 courtyards at the complex, designed for military parades. Images of the interior coming soon.
