*St Andrews, Kinson, January 2021* The Parish Church of St. Andrew's, Kinson, North Bournemouth (Dorset, England). One of the oldest churches in the Bournemouth area, the tower is believed to date from Norman times, around 1100 A.D. and there may even have been a Saxon church on this site 150 years before that. Although about 4 miles from the coast, the village of Kinson was once a haven for smugglers. This would have been long before nearby Bournemouth became a fashionable seaside resort or the large conurbation that it is today. St Andrew's Church is said to have been at the centre of a network of underground tunnels, with the church tower used as a look-out post.
