The Old Mill, Harnham, March 2022 It seems a little unfair to call Harnham a suburb of the city of Salisbury, as it has its own unique character, charm, and atmosphere. However, a short walk (about 1 kilometre) from the city centre takes you across the water meadows to the west of Salisbury Cathedral, and here by the River Nadder, you will find the Old Mill and Mill House at Harnham. Parts of the building date from the 12th century. A few hundred years later, the building became Wiltshire's first paper mill and the river was diverted to flow underneath it.
