A scene captured in the village of Bosham (pronounced 'Bozzum') in West Sussex. Here the river flows between old houses to meet the sea by the quay. This image has been given a textured, pencil drawing finish. Bosham has its roots in history. King Canute is reputed to have had a palace near here and it might have been at Bosham that he commnded the sea to go back. It also appears on the Bayeux Tapestry showing the meeting of Harold Godwinson and Edward the Confessor prior to a meeting with William of Normandy.The upshot of this was, of course, the Battle of Hastings and the Norman conquest of Britain.
