Our geese are the inspiration for this painting. The geese are a fascinating creature and sitting on our steps watching them is a pleasant and relaxing activity. Unfortunately though the yard where our geese reside is not very pleasing to the eye, there are bushes and just a netting fence around it. The pond is not big either. So when one morning the light and shadows were really lovely I took some photos and then proceeded to give our geese a nicer environment, at least in theis painting. The distance background is true to life just not the forground setting.
