Islay Scotch Whisky Pillows

I’m not against NASA going into space, but if it’s a great whisky they’re after, they only have to go as far as Islay.

A2 Oil on Canvas This painting may be the longest I've worked on any piece. Due to time restraints, other projects and using oil paints this canvas was started in February 2019 and has taken me nearly 3 years to finally complete. At the time, my plan was to produce a series of these still life paintings pairing up alcohol bottles with their appropriate glassware and themes, but so far I've only managed to paint the two, although I must say I'm happy with the two whisky paintings I've done.

My first oil painting in a series of drink themed pieces. I am ethusiastic about the characteristics of drinks. They each have unique styles and presentation, they tell you about the person who drinks them and they make wonderful still life composition

For anyone in love with Islay and a certain thrash metal band, I can’t think of a better design! Known as "The Queen of the Hebrides", it lies in Argyll just south west of Jura and around 40 kilometres north of the Northern Irish coast. The island's capital is Bowmore where the distinctive round Kilarrow Parish Church and a distillery are located.
