The English Dance of Death 1815 Pillow

Goth Pillow

designed and sold by  JCD666

The English Dance of Death was a two volume set of books originally published in 1815 as artistic literature meant to give the reader a glimpse into the superstitious themes surrounding death. The work features 72 metrical compositions by William Combe accompanies by 72 illustrated plates by Thomas Rowlandson. The plates and the written work find a connection using a thoughtful blend of humor and a wonderful purpose of virtue, carefully presented through combined artistic effort. This design comes from one of the plates and features a rather bored looking skeleton, perhaps representing death himself, surrounded by various methods one's life might come to an end.
