From an engraving Illustrated London News 1865 dated April 8th. A day later General Lee surrendered to grant, and 6 days later Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth All the images I am uploading to this profile are no longer under copyright. My aim is to make available in a variety of forms these wonderful images from Victorian & Edwardian days from great publications like the Illustrated London News, the Graphic, Punch & other periodicals or books of the time.
