Manufacture of Lotus Silk Pillow

The lotus is a flower very attached to the image of the Buddha. According to legend, during his first seven steps, a lotus flower would have arisen at his feet. For the Burmese, the lotus is therefore a symbol of purity of the soul and it is used in many ceremonies. At the origin of the weaving of this flower, it is said that a hundred years ago a woman regularly offered lotuses to the temple near her home. She later discovered that it was possible to collect the threads extracted from the stem. Then, that it was possible to transform them into fabrics. From these fabrics, she created a special dress to offer as an offering to a monk.
