101st Screaming Eagles 1918 Pillow

The 101st Airborne Division ("Screaming Eagles") is a specialized modular light infantry division of the U.S. Army trained for air assault operations. The Screaming Eagles have been referred to by journalists as "the tip of the spear" as well as one of the most potent and tactically mobile divisions. The 101st has a history that is nearly a century long. Renowned for its role in Operation Overlord, Operation Market Garden, liberation of the Netherlands, and the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, the 101st also participated in several major battles in Vietnam, including Hamburger Hill. In the late '60s, the 101st was reorganized as an airmobile division and then, in 1974, as an air assault division.
