A poppy field located in the village of Great Lumley, close to the city of Durham. The poppies stretch the entire length of the field, giving a beautiful red carpet of colour, combined with beautiful blue skies and fluffy clouds the provide a beautiful and thought provoking summer image.

A view across Maize Beck in Upper Teesdale, on the border with both Durham and Cumbria. The view out over the beck passes across an area called Golden Mea, towards the distance where the lifting cloud and fog partially hides Meldon Hill. This area forms part of the walk from Langdon Beck, around Cronkley Scar, Falcon Clints to the Cow Green Reservoir

A beautiful calm day at Derwentwater afforded the opportunity to pick up some lovely reflections of the Skiddaw mountain range reflected the the still waters.

Brancaster is a village and civil parish on the north coast of the English county of Norfolk. The civil parish of Brancaster comprises Brancaster itself, together with Brancaster Staithe and Burnham Deepdale. The three villages form a more or less continuous settlement along the A149 at the edge of the Brancaster Manor marshland and the Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve. The wooden groins in this location are unusual in they zig-zag along the coast and are undated in age Canon 5D Mk3 24-105 L series lens

The old Chemical beach of Seaham harbour, so named for the period that the chemical works were situated on the cliffs above the beach. Once the chemical waste was piped directly into the Seaham and other waste was carried along the beach on small rail carts - now all that remains are the remnants of the tracks and some old wagon wheels in the sea. The Yosemite Valley, home to many of the famous cliffs and waterfalls that make the Yosemite National Park famous, is accessible all year round. Not just a great valley, but a shrine to human foresight, the strength of granite, the power of glaciers and the persistence of life.

The more distant is Hestan Island, complete with its lighthouse and cottages. Closer in, a third of a mile from Rockcliffe, is Rough Island. Stockley Bridge is an old packhorse bridge over Grains Gill in The Borrowdale Valley of The Lake District. Built is the 18th Century, originally of slate, it was a favourite subject for artists to sketch. It was washed away in 1966 and re-built with a larger span.

Lindisfarne or Holy Island War Memorial, is a First World war memorial Lutyens design cross. It is constructed from pink ashlar from nearby Doddington. Located on the Heugh adjacent to the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory.

Above Ullswater on Place Fell, a stunning view of Hartsop and Brotherswater can been seen through the morning storm. The cloud and mist was being whipped by strong winds, snow beginning to fall and the sun was breaking through in intermittent bursts.
