With a complex history, the current Vermilion Lighthouse was erected in October, 1991 on the shores of Lake Erie in Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Lighthouse is a 34 foot replica that had originally been removed in1929.

Once a home to a small fishing community until the whole area, including the nearby village of Tyneham, was taken over by the army in December 1943 for military training and every one was kicked out. Nothing remains of the settlement today as the occupants were never allowed back.

The beautiful sweep of sand and sea at Rhossili Bay on the coast of the Gower Peninsula, South Wales. This is the view from the cliff top leading to Worms Head which forms one side of the bay. Unsurprisingly this stretch of sand has been voted Britain's Best Beach for two years running - and the third best in Europe!
