Ivar the Boneless though to be a Norse God and son of Odin was actually the son of Ragnar Lodbrok and Lagertha during the Viking age. Any Scandinavian warrior or Viking lover or ancient historian would love this cool design. Displayed on the shirt is an Asgard rune worthy of the gates of Vahalla and would have the blessing of Hyngwat and Bjorn!

Oftenly Thor would have to go to Jotunheim, to set an example of some rogue Jotun, to keep the peace. The Jotuns were quite rebellious, and they would do everything they could to play tricks on Thor. Once they made a drinking competition, but they connected Thors drinking horn straight to the sea, so he could never finish it up.

Design featuring a Viking Shieldmaiden. In the background is the Norse Vegvisir compass Wayfinder symbol. A Shield Maiden is the female warrior equivalent of the male Vikings. The most famous of them being Lagertha. According to the legend, Lagertha was a Norwegian Viking shieldmaiden who married the famous Norse chieftain Ragnar Lothbrok. Vegvisir translates into “That Which Shows the Way” in Icelandic. In the Huld Manuscript, it says this about the Vegvisir: “If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known.”

This block print shirt design is based on a probable Viking raven flag. The raven is a symbol closely associated with Odin-- having two ravens named Huginn and Muninn-- and was further associated with war since Odin is the god of war. It's said that the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok in the Great Heathen Army flew a raven banner as well as other viking figures throughout history. I've recreated the image as a block print in my own style following some historical examples then printed and scanned it to make this shirt!

BETTER TO BE A WOLF OF ODIN THAN A LAMB OF GOD

The Valkyries, whose name means “chooser of the slain” are prominent figures in Old Norse mythology. They are female entities who preside over battles selecting those who died fighting valiantly to spend their afterlife in the halls of Valhalla where the Valkyries serve them mead as they plan for the events of Ragnarök. My artwork depicts a Valkyrie carrying a slain warrior to the halls of Valhalla behind her.
