This dramatic photograph was taken at the Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia, PA. There is something special about black and white photography. I love how it allows you to show the contrast between light and dark. When I took this photo, the bench was bathed in sunlight, by developing it in black and white I knew that it would convey the feeling of solitude that I was looking to achieve.

I went for a feeling of drudgery when night workers go off to work and hardly see the light of day.

The LeVier Cosmic Wind was a small single engine, single seat racing monoplane designed and built by staff of the Lockheed Corporation in 1947. It did not race successfully in the US but one won the premier cross-country competition in the UK in 1964. It still flies today.

An aircraft that was used for Navigator and rear crew training for decades by the Royal Air Force. I've quite a few hours in these myself!

After the Christchurch Earthquakes, so many buildings were demolished, but for some reason, this one was only partly reduced to its columns and beams. After its underground car park becoming flooded it becoming a nesting ground for rare Black-billed gulls.
