Digital elaboration and composition by Bulgan Lumini .The Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidered cloth nearly 70 metres (230 ft) long and 50 centimetres , which depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England concerning William, Duke of Normandy, and Harold, Earl of Wessex, later King of England, and culminating in the Battle of Hastings. It is thought to date to the 11th century, within a few years after the battle. It tells the story from the point of view of the conquering Normans, but is now agreed to have been made in England.

The pathway leading from a country lane to the Norman church of St Nicholas at Ibstone, Buckinghamshire. This ancient church sits surrounded by trees on the edge of the village of Ibstone. The village, which is a mere six miles from High Wycombe, is reached through narrow country roads and lies on the edge of a hillside in the Chilterns Hills overlooking spectacular wooded valleys.

The castle at Brecon (Aberhonddu) standing above the River Honddu close to where it flows into the River Usk. This was one of the first stone castles in Wales, built by Bernard de Neufmarche in 1093. The Welsh, however, destroyed the town in the 1100s and so a stone shell keep and outer walls were built by the early 1200s. The section in the image dates from c.1300. In 1645 Parliament captured the castle and slighted the walls to prevent future defensive use. This image was captured in late December.

Looking across the River Usk as it flows through the market town of Brecon (Aberhonddu) in Powys, Wales, to the town's medieval castle.
