Helm Crag Above The Village Of Grasmere, Lake District Helm Crag is a fell in the English Lake District situated in the Central Fells to the north of Grasmere. Despite its low height it sits prominently at the end of a ridge, easily seen from the village. This, combined with the distinctive summit rocks which provide the alternative name 'The Lion and the Lamb', makes it one of the most recognised hills in the District. Long Meg and Her Daughters The Long Meg monolith and accompanying circle forms one part of a complex of monuments in the Penrith area that includes, as well as the nearby Little Meg circle, a smaller circle seen by William Stukeley in 1725 to the south-west, no longer extant, plus the impressive henge at Mayburgh, a partly destroyed henge at nearby King Arthur's Round Table, and a third, completely destroyed, henge just a few yards to the south of King Arthur's Round Table. The monument is 120yd × 100yd in diameter. Life In The Fast Lane I don't normally like to have to carry a tripod around with me especially when I am on holiday and it's a bit unfair on my wife having to wait while I set everything up for the perfect shot. I actually went against what I just said and took my best tripod to Hong Kong as I knew there would be a lot of opportunities for night shots. York Shambles Butchers Bike The Shambles is an old street in York, England, with overhanging timber-framed buildings, some dating back as far as the fourteenth century. It was once known as The Great Flesh Shambles, probably from the Anglo-Saxon Fleshammels (literally 'flesh-shelves'), the word for the shelves that butchers used to display their meat. In 1885, thirty-one butchers' shops were located along the street. Cuban Cars in Havana I stood with my camera just waiting for a line of old Cuban cars on the corner of hotel Parque Central, Havana. This was harder than you may think as there are quite a few more modern cars and of course tourist buses that seemed to be always in the way of my shot. These cars were lined up at the traffic lights waiting for a green light and I took my shot before they moved. Just behind them is Hotel Inglaterra and the Capitol building which helps to give you a sense of place and makes for the perfect black and white image to frame and place on a prominent place in your house or home. This lady is probably one of the richest people in Havana as every photo earns her 1 Cuk which is more than most of her compatriots earn in a day if not longer. This is one of my favourite photographs from the best place I've ever visited, and wish we had stayed longer in Havana instead of moving to Varadero on an all inclusive resort. Oia Santorini Greek Island Flag Oia is a coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini, a Greek Aegean island. The town has whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water. In a 19th-century mansion, the Naval Maritime Museum has exhibits on local seafaring history, including old figureheads, sailors’ chests and models of old ships. Nearby is the ruined Oia Castle, known for its sunset views.

Beach Volleyball Net At Sunset I present you with a bit of colour with this stunning sunset on a beach on the Caribbean resort of Varadero in Cuba. As the sun was setting I used the post of this volleyball net to hide the sun as it was so powerful that it would have blown all the highlights and probably the sensor on my camera.
