An abnormally high tide, a Spring Tide, creates a different view of a sunset at the Indian River Inlet of the Delaware Seashore State Park just north of Bethany Beach. The Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the inlet creates a unique silhouette against the orange/yellow/pink sky with the small orb of the setting sun almost sitting on the bridge itself.

The Indian River Bridge carries traffic over the Indian River Inlet in coastal Delaware at the Delaware Seashore State Park. The Charles W. Cullen Bridge connects Route 1 traffic from the south and Bethany Beach to the northern town of Dewey Beach and the City of Rehoboth Beach.

In this "painterly style" image the full moon is made to appear rising under the Indian River Inlet Bridge at the Delaware Seashore State Park. Of course a bit of "artistic license" was used to make the moon appear as it does under the George W. Carlson Bridge.

In this simulated watercolor presentation, the Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet in coastal southern Delaware is a beautiful sight to behold at any time of day or night. Twilight, the transition between day and night brings out the spectacular color of the bridge, the water and the sky - all in shades of blue - at this magical time. The Delaware Seashore State Park facilities on both the north and south sides of the Indian River Inlet and along the shore of the Indian River Bay attract thousands or people, who can enjoy sights like this, all year 'round. The area, just north of Bethany Beach, DE boasts campgrounds, a large marina, fishing and, of course, a well-maintained and guarded (in season) beach on the Atlant...

This winter scene is of Neshaminy Creek in Tyler State Park in Bucks County, PA right after a snowstorm. I added the infrared process to give it a more surreal and dreamy quality.

This scene of the Indian River Inlet Bridge, the Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet, is a view from the south shore access road. The road leads to the popular beach and fishing areas of the Delaware Seashore State Park.

Lark Sparrow Early Morning by Debra Martz While having coffee outdoors at my campsite several mornings in a row, I had begun to notice the habits of the birds as they started their day. The Lark Sparrow (Chondestes grammacus) along with the Black-throated Sparrows would forage mostly from the ground but would also perch on this low snag. Butterfly on Perfume Balls by Debra Martz There were literally 100s of these little beauties flying all along the trail. The wind was blowing fairly strong so I looked for an area that wasn't heavy with flowers when I spotted these "perfume balls" rather isolated and waited for a butterfly to land. These colorful round balls are likely the remnants of the wildflower Indian Blanket and from my searching on Google, I've ID'ed the butterfly as a Vesta Crescent, (Phyciodes vesta). Gnatcatcher On Greenery by Debra Martz The Blue-gray Gnatcatcher is a beautiful, tiny bird that makes itself known by its soft but insistent calls and its constant motion makes it hard to capture. In addition to its constant in and out, up and down movements, it flicks its white-edged tail from side to side, scaring up insects and chasing after them. Painted Bunting -Painterly by Debra Martz It just seemed to me that with a bird this vibrant and named Painted Bunting that it should be processed with a painterly effect. Hackberry Emperor and Huisache Daisy Wildflowers by Debra Martz The trails at South Llano River State Park (near Junction, Texas) were lined with an abundance of wildflowers all along the trails and therefore have attracted a variety of butterflies.
