This is a really obscure breweriana design hailing from Brazil, Indiana which was and to out knowledge still is the only brewery to every operate in Brazil. Brazil Brewing Ice and Power Co. opened in 1901 and closed in 1907 it was open for 6 years. As a Pre-Prohibition Brewery, any advertising items or collectibles are likely to be desirable to collectors as they tend to be hard to find. Brazil Brewing Ice and Power Co. was the only brewery that was located in Brazil, IN at West Main St. at the city limits. This design is based on a curvy sign shape in promotion of Brazil Beer. The center depicts a distinguished gentleman with a sword surrounded by the taxt 'Brazil Brewing Company - Brazil, Indiana.

The Independent Milwaukee Brewery was an American brewery that was located on the south side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1901 until 1964, when it was closed by G. Heileman Brewing Company which purchased the brewery in 1962. The brewery's signature brand was Braumeister.

he Hull Brewing Company was established in New Haven, Connecticut in 1872 by Colonel William Hull. Shortly after it opened it was affectionately referred to as “Hull’s”. Brewing was nonstop at The Hull Brewing Company until prohibition hit in 1920. From 1920 To 1933, while most local breweries shut down, Hull’s stayed in business by producing ice and non-alcoholic malt beverages. Shortly after the repeal of prohibition in 1933, The Hull Brewing Company moved its operations to The Old Fresenius Brewery, located at 820 Congress Avenue, where it thrived. In it’s new location it ultimately became, to this day, Connecticut’s largest brewery.

Sometimes known by the nickname "Scarface", Al Capone was an American gangster and businessman who attained notoriety during the Prohibition era as the co-founder and boss of the Chicago Outfit. His seven-year reign as crime boss ended when he was 33.

If a tinker was my trade, I'd be a traveling repairman (or woman) of pots and pans. Bear in mind, this would be back in the day when pots and pans were made of quality cast iron, and not cheap aluminum from Wal Mart. The "dam" is a wad of putty with a layer of solder over the top to plug the holes.

As far as Albany goes, we do know that Prussian-born Frederick Hinckel and Bavarian-born John Hedrick both opened breweries in Albany in 1852, the earliest Central European immigrant-owned breweries in the city. What we don't know is if those breweries opened as ale breweries or lager breweries. They may have been brewing Bavarian-style Weiss Bier. As the 1850s wore on, circumstantial references to lager brewing in Albany appears, but nothing noting a named brewery. In 1857, Templeton's—a furniture store on Albany's main drag, Broadway, advertised refrigerators for sale. Suitable for, as the ad expresses, "Grocers, Butchers, and Lager Beer purposes."

Monarch Brewing was founded in 1890 as the Josef Hladovec Brewing Company in Chicago. In 1898 Monarch became part of the United Breweries Company along with twelve other local breweries. The new United Brewery managed to hold off failure for a few years but consolidating and cutting expenses, but the parent company was still losing money and in 1903 it filed for bankruptcy and reorganization. The reorganized company survived until 1920, when Chicago finally went officially dry with the coming of national prohibition. In 1922 it was sold to a new ownership group from Chicago.
