Rosetta Pillows

The South African Bushmen created San-rock art about 60,000 years ago. The image, located at the Game Pass Shelters in the Darkens berg Mountains, depicts a dying eland and a man with hooves and hairs like the eland holding its tail, as experts observed. This is a digitally recreated version with changed background and accentuated forms. The original theme and its feel, however, remain intact to the extent possible.

The variation on Leonardo Da-Vinci's Vitruvian Man depicts a choanoflagellate "rosette" colony. Choanoflagellates are thought to be the unicellular organisms (protozoans).that are most closely related to the animals, and so they seem strangely appropriate to this renaissance classic!
