Be Still And Know is an art print I created with a quote from Psalm 46:10 as an overlay on a photograph I took of a stormy sky. As a Christian artist, I seek to make sure that the biblical quote I am using is a good marriage with the art print I put it on. In this particular case, I was working with this Bible verse trying to find a suitable print to put it on. When I came across this photograph, I knew it was a fit. Toadstool Catching the Rays by Debra Martz I spotted the signage for this trail as we traveled from Kanab, Utah to Lake Powell along highway 89 and added it to plans to come back during our stay at Wahweap Marina (Lake Powell). Overall the trail was fairly easy 1.8 mile round trip, following washes for the most part...only one climb that required hands and feet to get up a level. This image is of the upper reaches of Gullfoss, an amazing waterfall in southern Iceland. Here the water is rushing downhill just prior to it tumbling over a deep drop into the gorge. Overall the drop is about 100 feet. The water comes from a glacier that's not far from the falls. This glacial water has a golden hue to it, which gives rise to the name of the waterfall, 'gull' meaning gold. Powerful waterfalls are captivating with their sense of power and the roar of the water. What I love about this image is the way the Sun on the spray from the turbulent water has caused a rainbow to form, the deep blue sky, and the power expressed by the rushing water.

It's so important to take time every day to be present with yourself. Some people find this in stillness, others in activity but what matters is that you are aligned with your body and that you listen to your inner voice so it can guide you through this experience. It’s when we are lost in the tumult of life and lose our sense of presence and direction that we find ourselves in paths that are either painful or suboptimal. When we make it a point to orient ourselves each day we are moving towards the beautiful golden periods of our lives that are so worth enjoying and remembering.
