This view comes thanks to my cycle suffering a mechanical failure. The point it happened on one of my regular exercise routes just happened to have a good view of Stockbridge church. A week later and I have painted it in oil on an 8x8 inch board. With some brute force and WD40 I'm glad to say the bicycle is now back up and running, so once the rain stops I'll be out again capturing more views of the Test Valley to paint.

The Ihlara Valley, is located on the southwest corner of the imaginary triangle that forms Cappadocia, but quite far from its "heart", which is around Goreme town. That's why it's not so crowded as the other valleys of Cappadocia, although it's a place of extreme natural beauty, and great historical and cultural significance with dozens of rock cut, byzantine, Greek-Orthodox, churches and monasteries. The twin valleys of Soganli (Asagi Soganli & Yukari Soganli) are the southeast corner of the imaginary triangle that forms Cappadocia. Although in the southwest "edge" of Kayseri Prefecture, it's very close to the "borders" with Nevsehir Prefecture, not very far from the "heart" of Cappadocia (Central Anatolia, Turkey), but still far enough, for most of the tourists, so you will have the chance to explore the 2 valleys of Soganli, practically "alone". Hampden Bridge is a suspension bridge across the Kangaroo River, located in the town of Kangaroo Valley, New South Wales, Australia. It is named after Lord Hampden, Governor of New South Wales from 1895 to 1899. On the way to Uchisar (Nevsehir province, Turkey), one of the most impressive villages of Cappadocia, there is a place where most tourist buses make a stop, because it offers a great panoramic view, not only to the village, but also to the entrance of Pigeon Valley.
