This lovely cherry donut was particularly fun to paint with its pink icing and sour cherry candy on top! From my original oil painting - also available with painted background.

This beautiful view is Rawson Lake, in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada. A steep hike leads you to this mountain lake full of trout.
My absolute favourite donut, the Boston Cream! Iced with chocolate and filled with custard, it's perfect. This is an oil painting I did of one of these delicious desserts!
When I see the line drawings on the surface of the water, I always feel like there's some glyphic mystery that the lake is trying to tell me, breaking up reality into pieces. I love painting water as it can be both realistic and abstract at once.

A silhouette of a raven flying overhead, wings outstretched - pattern version. The original artwork is mixed media: charcoal, paint and conté.

I took the reference photo for this oil painting off Mermaid Island when I was on a canoe trip one summer. The river can be fast, and deep, and flows from Lake Ontario to the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Long used as a shipping route, it is also popular for recreational use. Mermaid Island is one of the Admiralty Islands, among the Thousand Islands in the St. Lawrence River in Ontario, Canada.
Crows are known for their clever antics and attitude! This crow in flight is showing off all the colours in its iridescent feathers. This coloured pencil drawing was inspired by a photograph by Anne Auclair Moe (used with permission).
Painted from a reference photo I took while sailing off the coast of Mexico. The glassy surface of the water shows a little disturbance from the boat passing through.
This oil painting is from a reference photo I took while sailing off the coast of Mexico. Water is such a joy to paint - always different, and ends up somewhere between abstraction and realism.
At the water's edge the trees cast shadows on the shallow water, contrasting with the sunlit waves beyond. In my artwork, I'm always interested in the liminal; this one really has it all - soft and hard, depth and surface, light and shadow.
The beautiful blue water at a bird sanctuary in Calgary, Alberta inspired this painting. Waterfowl flock here as do many other wild animals. With birdsong the only sound, it is a truly peaceful place. I love to paint water!
One of the first trees to bloom in spring, with showy blossoms, magnolias signify the changing of the seasons, dignity and nobility. I love the intense pink!
My orchid just keeps bursting open new blooms! I love to paint flowers and can't pass up the opportunity to do oil paintings of these beautiful white blossoms.

My Phaelenopsis orchid bloomed and I had to paint it! That evocative centre and full buds, it is a beauty. This is just a little oil painting at 5x7", but scales up well to larger sizes for prints!

The black-billed magpie is an exotic looking member of the corvidae family – related to jays and crows. They’re smart, opportunistic, and fascinating to watch! This is a little charcoal, pastel and coloured pencil drawing I did of one.
