It is native to the Amazon, Orinoco, and Essequibo river basins of South America, in Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, Colombia, Peru, Suriname, Bolivia, and Brazil. It is found only in fresh water, and inhabits larger rivers, streams, and lakes. It can reach about 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in) in length, and about 80 kg (180 lb) in weight.

Redtail Catfish
It is also known as the black piranha, white piranha, spotted piranha or yellow piranha. They are found in the drainage systems of the Amazon and Orinoco as well as the Essequibo River and other rivers of the Guiana Shield and the coastal rivers of northeastern Brazil. It is one of the larger species of piranha with a maximum recorded length of 41.5 centimeters (16.3 in) and they attain a maximum weight of 3.0 kilograms (6.6 lb).

Milkfish
It is also known as the oxeye herring or simply herring, is the smaller of the two species of tarpon and lives in Indo-Pacific waters. Their usual habitat is in coastal waters, estuaries and many miles upstream (from the estuaries) in freshwater rivers and lakes. They are amphidromus, i.e. they migrate from the river to the sea, and from the sea to the river. Those living in fresh water tend to be smaller than the ones living in saltwater, growing just over 50 cm (20 in), while saltwater examples grow over 1 m (3.3 ft).

It is a requiem shark commonly found worldwide in warm, shallow waters along coasts and in rivers. It is known for its aggressive nature, and presence in warm, shallow brackish and freshwater systems including estuaries and rivers. They can thrive in both salt and fresh water and can travel far up rivers. They have been sighted and caught in many rivers , such as the Mekong, Mississippi and the Amazon. The species has been spotted 2,500 miles (4,000 kilometers) up the Amazon River in South America and dwell in Lake Nicaragua, a freshwater lake in Central America. It can reach a maximum size of 3.5 m (11 ft).
