Lately I've been drawn to Art Deco & Art Nouveau shapes and patterns, I'm enjoying exploring their possibilities.

Inspired by folk art and embroidery, a retro floral pattern in deep indigo, cream, coral, red and brown.

I did this little illustration for a greeting card design on my GCU store, but my children really liked it and convinced me to post it elsewhere, too. : )

Mixing some geometric patterns that I enjoy with my own doodled patterns and pretty colors and gradients.

I think in doodles. Ink in my veins. : ) This floral / nature pattern was hand drawn in pencil and then colored digitally in rainbow shades. A design with lots of details and a Moroccan feel to the shapes and rhythm of the repeat.

If this looks like a lot of work, it really, really was. But fun. : ) Hand drawn with graphite pencil on paper, coloured in Photoshop CS5.

Where I'm living now, there are squirrels everywhere, my children are loving watching them, it is all new to them to see squirrels in the garden. : ) Hand drawn with pencil, colored & finished in Photoshop.

More of what grows in my garden. Butterflies are symbolic of resurrection, hope, joy, and new beginnings, but often these things only come through dark times and hard experiences. Today was, for me, one of those days, but working on this pattern lifted my spirit. This is for my husband.
