Something about these tones and stripes makes me think of beach houses & deck chairs...
A patchwork hexagon pattern in soft shades of teal, aqua, tan, cream and taupe, with stripes and hand drawn doodle patterns.
I began this with a black ink pen and a piece of paper. Getting to this end result was a lovely, two day long journey of playing with colours and possibilities. I can't remember which way I went but I like where I ended up... (One of three colorways.)
A decorative, Art Nouveau style pattern of flowers, leaves, tendrils and paisley.

Yesterday I was given some pomegranates - beautiful, breathtaking objects that they are - so of course I had to make something of them. (Thank you, Ryan and Karen!) A lot of things about this pattern are outside of my comfort zone, I tend towards blues & greens, soft pastels and neutrals, and this is, well, red and magenta and super contrasty and bold. My adviser here at home (by which I mean my wonderful daughter) tells me it's okay to work outside of my comfort zone, sometimes.
These medallion / mandala doodles don't come with shortcuts ... They take over your whole day and make your fingers ache, but that's the way I like them.
A version in my favorite indigo and navy blues on palest lavender.

A soft sage green & cream version.
I think in doodles. Ink in my veins. : )
A second color version.
This floral / nature pattern was hand drawn in pencil and then colored digitally in shades of blue. A design with lots of details and a Moroccan feel to the shapes and rhythm of the repeat.
I'm loving these colours together at the moment.
A Moroccan style pattern in shades of navy blue, deep teal, dark red and burnt orange on pale grey & white, with delicate doodled details and textures.
