Stephen Grover Cleveland was the 22nd (1885–1889) and 24th President of the United States (1893–1897). He is the only president who has served two consecutive terms. He was also the only Democrat elected president at a time when the Republican Party dominated politics between 1860 and 1912, and the only Democrat elected after the Civil War.
