Federico Fellini was an Italian film director and screenwriter known for his distinctive style, which blends fantasy and baroque images with earthiness. He is recognized as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time. His films have ranked highly in critical polls such as that of Cahiers du Cinéma and Sight & Sound, which lists his 1963 film 8&1⁄2 as the 10th-greatest film. For La Dolce Vita Fellini won the Palme d'Or; additionally, he was nominated for twelve Academy Awards, and won four in the category of Best Foreign Language Film, the most for any director in the history of the Academy. He received an honorary award for Lifetime Achievement at the 65th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

Inspired by what many consider to be one of the best films ever made, the Fellini 8 1/2 design celebrates the avant garde surrealist comedy drama directed by Federico Fellini. Made in 1963, 8 1/2 starred Marcello Mastroianni as Guido Anselmi, a famous Italian film director who suffers from stifled creativity as he attempts to direct an epic science fiction film.

With this image, we celebrate Federico Fellini, one of the greatest directors in the history of cinema. He directed such classics as Nights of Cabiria, La Strada, 81/2, La Dolce Vita, Amarcord, Juliet of the Spirits, Satyricon, Roma, etc.
