A digital art view looking over Pontsticill Reservoir in Powis, South Wales. This is the view as seen from the woodland walk which circles round the lake, captured on a warm, cloudy day. It is situated on the south side of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is within the Fforest Fawr Geopark. Also known as the Taf Fechan Reservoir, it's 2.5 miles long and covers 102 hectares - approximately 252 acres. A great walk with superb views - finishing with a steam train ride back to Merthyr Tydfil.

The castle at Brecon (Aberhonddu) standing above the River Honddu close to where it flows into the River Usk. This was one of the first stone castles in Wales, built by Bernard de Neufmarche in 1093. The Welsh, however, destroyed the town in the 1100s and so a stone shell keep and outer walls were built by the early 1200s. The section in the image dates from c.1300. In 1645 Parliament captured the castle and slighted (razed) the walls to prevent future defensive use. A digital pencil drawing.

The scene at Hungerford Town Lock in late autumn produced in the style of a pencil drawing. The lock is no 74 on the Kennet and Avon Canal and is near the centre of the picturesque market town of Hungerford in West Berkshire - very near the border with Wiltshire. The Kennet and Avon Canal, 87 miles long, was constructed between 1794 and 1810 to provide a smooth transport link between Bristol and London via Reading. It fell into disuse but was completely restored and opened in 1990.

Approaching the bottom gate of Garston Lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal near Theale in Berkshire, England, Only reachable on foot by the towpath it is close to a busy bridge carrying the M4! This is one of only two turf-sided locks still in existence on this waterway and is a Grade 2 listed construction. Part of the original Kennet Navigation between Reading and Newbury, it was constructed in 1718-23 under the supervision of engineer John Hore of Newbury. The entire canal was completed in 1810.

A lived-in narrowboat moored on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Hungerford in Berkshire, England. This image was captured on a sunny autumn afternoon with the still water reflecting the trees. The Kennet and Avon Canal, 87 miles long, was constructed between 1794 and 1810 to link the Kennet and Avon rivers and thus provide a smooth transport link between Bristol and London via Reading. A narrow boat has just passed through Woolhampton lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Woolhampton in Berkshire, England. This lock was constructed between 1718 and 1723 under the supervision of the engineer John Hore of Newbury. It was part of the Kennet Navigation - that is part river and part canal. The Kennet and Avon canal was constructed to join Bristol and London via Reading making the transport of goods smoother. It closed due to the Great Western Railway but was reopened in 1990.

This old vintage tram has suddenly appeared in the Albert Dock, I think it sells drinks. There seem to be a lot of these old vehicles about these days which have been given a new lease of life. It adds a colourful splash to the waterfront anyway, which I've enhanced with Topaz effects.

Looking across the River Thames to Henley in Oxfordshire. Here we can see the boathouses with their balconies and outside staircases just downstream from the town's bridge. Behind can be seen the towers of the old brewery - still in operation but not in Henley any more! The stretch of river here is most famous for the annual Henley Royal Regatta run since 1839 for 1 mile 55o yds from Temple Island almost to this spot! It gained 'Royal' status when Prince Albert became patron in 1851. Nikon D7100 Nikkor 18-200

The Norman church of St Nicholas at Ibstone, Buckinghamshire, England. This old church sits surrounded by trees on the edge of the village of Ibstone in Buckinghamshire. Ibstone itself, which is a mere six miles from High Wycombe, is reached through narrow country roads and lies on the top of a hillside in the Chilterns overlooking wooded valleys. This Grade II listed church has a nave which dates from the 12thC, as do the chancel arch and font. The 15thC pulpit is thought to be one of the first in the country (priests stood on the chancel steps before that). The 12thC entrance seen in the image is protected by a wooden porch added in the 19thC. The church and the manor farm next door belong to Merton College Oxford, the advowdson or ...

Marlow, on the north bank of the River Thames in Buckinghamshire, captured from just above the lock and weir late one afternoon in Autumn. In the background is All Saints church, the spire being a distinctive landmark in the area. Near the church is the suspension bridge constructed in 1832. Designed by William Tierney Clark, it was the prototype for the Szechenyi Chain Bridge crossing the Danube in Budapest.

The church of St Andrew's in the village of Chaddleworth in the heart of West Berkshire. There was a church here in Saxon times and some stones from then can apparently be found at the base of the tower. However, the building as we see it is mainly Norman with 13th century additions. The south door is a superb example of decorated Norman work.The village of Chaddleworth lies on the southern slopes of the Berkshire downs on the A338 which runs between Hungerford and Wantage.

The Monument to Grace Darling in the churchyard of St Aidan's Church in Bamburgh, a village in Northumberland on the north-east coast of England. Grace Darling was born in 1815, the daughter of the lighthouseman at Longstone Lighthouse. In 1838, she became a national heroine when she and her father rescued nine people from the wreck of the SS Forfarshire which had run aground off Big Harcar, an island off the Northumbrian coast. Grace Darling died in 1842, aged only 26.

The view from Blea Moor Road (B6255) near the Ribblehead Viaduct. Here we look across the Yorkshire Dales towards Pen y Ghent late in the afternoon in early July. At 2277ft (694m) this is the smallest of the three peaks of the Dales , the other two being Whernside and Ingleborough.
