The Penn Central Transportation Company, commonly abbreviated to Penn Central, was an American class I railroad that operated from 1968 to 1976. Penn Central was a combination of three railroads: the Pennsylvania Railroad, New York Central System and the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad.

The Hielanman's Umbrella is a landmark in the centre of Glasgow, Scotland. It is the local Glaswegian nickname for the glass walled railway bridge which carries the platforms of Glasgow Central station across Argyle Street. Due to the forced displacement of people during the second phase of the Highland Clearances in the 19th century, 30,000 highlanders who spoke Scottish Gaelic, but not English, came to Glasgow to find work. When arriving in the city they were housed in many different areas of Glasgow. New York is an expensive city yet there is so much that can be found for free. One just has to go and look for it. On my last visit I wandered into Grand Central Station during afternoon rush hour and soon found myself awash in a river of human bodies. With no time to look around, as the mission to get somewhere had made everyone blind... I escaped to the top of the stairs and just stood there while soaking in the beauty of this free moment... Grand Central Station, New York, USA I present to you a long exposure of the inside of New York's Grand Central Station. As this is a long exposure you will notice the movement of people appearing like a ghostly image compared to the people stood still while the shutter was open. I think this adds to the drama of the image as well as the black and white conversion. This really stands out as a metallic print but will also make for a great puzzle or mug as a gift. On a wet, dark night, I walked around Brussels. A place of memories, of times long ago when I was a child in Luxembourg, and Brussels was the nearest large city. Memories of Art Deco train stations, grey in the drizzle, of the intoxicating smells of syrup waffles, fresh, crispy chips and ground coffee. As I walked that night, I came to the gates of the Central Station. At this hour, it was almost empty, the light visible through the high windows, creating a sense of mystery and contrast. The work is a great souvenir of the city, a perfect gift. I decided to create a painting using a very restricted set of colours. Texture has been added to create extra depth.
