Everyone knows some people fear clowns, but not many know the term for it. A fun, tongue in cheek design

Coulrophobia

Coulrophobia is a fear of clowns. Children and adults who fear clowns may experience extreme, irrational reactions when they see clowns in person or view pictures or videos of clowns. Someone with a fear of clowns is coulrophobic. They may go out of their way to avoid any exposure to clowns.

'No Bozos' was one of the more ubiquitous tees and stickers one could pick up in record stores and head shops in the '80s. From rock stars to tech magnates, they were a common sight that sent a clear message that the bearer didn't tolerate clowns in their presence.

If we all ban together maybe we can kill the clown god!

Tulsey Town Ice Cream was founded in 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and eventually grew into a regional chain with multiple company-owned and franchise locations throughout the south-central and midwest. Starting out with a menu of traditional soft serve ice cream fare, Tulsey Town added a full grill menu of burgers and fries, but remained true to their frozen roots, which includes their popular Brrr! blended treat. The best part? They're open 24-hours to satisfy your late-night cravings!

Samuel Hart is credited with printing the first illustrated "Best Bower" card in 1863 with his "Imperial Bower". Best Bower-type Jokers continued to be produced well into the 20th century. Cards labelled "Joker" began appearing around the late 1860s, with some depicting clowns and jesters. It is believed that the term "Joker" comes from Jucker or Juckerspiel, the original German spelling of Euchre. One British manufacturer, Charles Goodall, was manufacturing packs with Jokers for the American market in 1871. The first Joker for the domestic British market was sold in 1874. Italians call Jokers "Jolly", for many early cards were labelled "Jolly Joker."

I wonder if it takes this same coming back up as it did going in?

The guys discover that the victims’ children had recently been to the restaurant and drawn a picture of their worst fear, which then came to life to kill their parent. While Dean confronts the man behind the magic, Sam is left to deal with some very angry clowns.

He SEEMS unhinged, and totally batty, but it's all just part of the act. ...Or is it?

Created for the Flipside Alternative Arts Fest group art exhibit "FLIPSIDE presents PHOBIA". Artists were challenged to deliver a piece that dealt with "phobia", however they chose to interpret it. See if you can figure out how many phobias are represented!

In 1962, Enrico Banducci drove past an unusual looking shuttered gas station at Columbus and Jackson in San Francisco. His friend Morgan Montague remarked, “what a great hamburger stand that would make.” A few months later, Montague and Banducci opened a 24-hour hamburger stand at the same spot, calling it Clown Alley. The triangular café, on the edge of San Francisco's North Beach’s bar scene, became a wildly popular late-night hangout as people leaving the bars craved a greasy burger. With the success of Clown Alley, the duo opened a second location at Lombard and Divisadero, but soon their partnership dissolved, with each of them taking a location, and now there were two burger stands called Clown Alley less than two miles apart.
