A few weeks ago I was watching a series called "For All Mankind" with some friends. It was an alternative history of the space race -- highly recommended if you haven't watched it yet -- and reminded me a lot of a book I read last year called "The Calculating Stars" -- again, highly recommended. Anyway, one thing led to another, and I started doodling what would SpaceX's logo would look like if it had evolved from NASA's original logos from back in the 60s and 70s. And this is the first result. Hope you like it!

The Mars-7 Treaty was signed in Brussels in 1997 by President Ellen Wilson and Premiere Mikhail Gorbachev to bring a new era of cooperation. The treaty was joined by Japan, India, the ESA, North Korea, and the Coalition of Communist Countries for Spaceflight (CCCS). Canada and China remained independent to pursue their own priorities in space.
