If we wish to continue to have our classics read and interpreted in modern day we must continue to reinterpret them. So here she has become one with the Ravens and will cease to return to the narrator’s side. Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.” “Eagerly I wished the morrow;—vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow—sorrow for the lost Lenore— For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore— Nameless here for evermore.”
