London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) locomotive The Duchess Of Sutherland, in a design incorporating her nameplate.

A black and white image of Princess Coronation Class 6233 Duchess of Sutherland steam locomotive built in 1938 for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). It was built for express passenger services, including the Royal Scot service between London and Glasgow. It was retired from British Railways in 1964 and was saved from being scrapped by Billy Butlin who displayed it at the Heads-of-Ayr holiday camp in Scotland. It's now fully restored in LMS "Crimson Lake" and photographed here on the Severn Valley Railway at Highley Station in Shropshire, England.

The locomotive was restored in LMS Crimson Lake livery with gold leaf lining, letters and numerals, and is seen above as she was in 1946 -fitted with a double chimney and smoke deflectors.
