Lower Slaughter Number of views as of 5th June 2017 = 500. The lovely Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter, not far from Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water (Gloucestershire, England). The River Eye passes through the village and creates interesting subject matter for visiting photographers. Couldn't resist this snippet from Lower Slaughter's wikipedia page: In May 2013 it was reported in the national news that the Parish Council were fiercely opposed to the presence of an icebox tricycle selling ice creams for seven days a week, six months of the year, citing that the trading times were excessive, increased footfall would prevent the grass from growing and that children could climb on the trike and fall into the nearby river!!! Parish church of St. Mary in Lower Slaughter, The Cotswolds.

St Mary's Church, Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire, England. There has been a church standing on this site in Lower Slaughter since the 13th century. Canon EOS 5D The present church of St Mary's was rebuilt in 1867 when the earlier church fell into dis-repair. St Marys' is designed on the Early English architecture by Benjamin Ferrey who also carried out much of the restoration work on Wells Cathedral. The interior is rather plain but retains some of the original 13th century arches. There are stained glass windows in the north, west and east walls.The memorials are mostly dedicated to the Whitmore family who lived in the manor house next door.
