It is also the model for the Szechenyl Chain Bridge over the River Danube in Budapest. To the left is the parish church of All Saints which dates from 1835 and replaced a 12th century building which had been demolished. This stretch of the Thames is famous for rowing.

Just upstream from the town of Marlow-on-Thames in Buckinghamshire. We can see the houses and the spire of All Saints Church - a local landmark. The Thames here is famous for rowing with a number of Olympic rowers training both in Marlow and at the nearby National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey, This is the scene from the Thames Path National Trail which starts near the source of the Thames and continues all the wat to the Thames Barrier in London.

A fine suspension brisge links the town to Berkshire on the southern bank. This stretch of the river is famous for rowing, the club here producing Olympic champions such as Sir Steve Redgrave, Past residents of Marlow have included Jerome K Jerome, Mary Shelley and TS Elliot.

This stretch of river is frequently busy with rowing, kayaking and canoeing crews training as both Marlow Rowing Club and the National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey are close by. Its location is the appropriately named Mill End, where the fast flowing Hambleden Bourne discharges into the Thames. Immediately below it is the weir, one of the longest on the Thames. Hambleden Fair, August 2020 Not to be confused with the Hampshire and Surrey villages of Hambledon, this shot shows a row of brick and flint cottages in the village of Hambleden, Buckinghamshire (England). The village is not far from the towns of Marlow, Henley and Wycombe, but its quiet rural setting makes it a popular film location. Date: 4th August 2020.

In 1975 Marlow Tackett opened and operated Marlow's Country Palace in Pikeville, Kentucky. His career flourished there for 30 years. Quite often I brought in some big name musicians such as George Jones and Percy Sledge and they filled up the place. In celebration of this great venue, that's brought up still to this day...here's a tribute shirt!
