The station is operated by the United States and is manned by a crew of twelve men.

The Thing is a 1982 American science fiction horror film directed by John Carpenter and written by Bill Lancaster. Based on the 1938 John W. Campbell Jr. novella Who Goes There?, it tells the story of a group of American researchers in Antarctica who encounter the eponymous "Thing", a parasitic extraterrestrial life-form that assimilates, then imitates other organisms. The group is overcome by paranoia and conflict as they learn that they can no longer trust each other and that any one of them could be the Thing.

The gang's all here. Celebrate the most tragic chapter in Antarctic Scientific Research history with this commemorative group photo of the team from Outpost 31, all of whom mysteriously disappeared in the winter of 1982, leaving but one survivor, a plucky husky/wolf cross called 'Jed'. Jed was of course famously adopted by then US President Ronald Reagan, who brought him to live at the White House from that point on. Alien conspiracy theories attached to a dramatic shift in White House policy shortly thereafter coinciding with Jed's sudden disappearance are completely untrue. Completely.

It was inspired by one of the greatest horror movies from the 80's, The Thing. This is a fictional logo designed for Outpost 31 from the movie the Thing. This is my take on a modern version of the Outpost 31 badge and how it would look if it were made today
