Plymouth Crewneck Sweatshirts

Plymouth was a brand of automobiles produced by Chrysler Corporation and its successor DaimlerChrysler. The brand was launched in 1928 to compete in what was then described as the "low-priced" market segment that was dominated by Chevrolet and Ford. It became the high-volume seller for the automaker until the late 1990s. Plymouth cars were marketed primarily in the United States. The brand was withdrawn from the marketplace in 2001. The Plymouth models that were produced up to then were either discontinued or rebranded as Chrysler or Dodge.

In 1961, the company started to fail and a simpler more obscure logo was introduced. This new logo partially featured the elements from the parent company logo. The central figure of the logo was the car badge inside a wide red rectangle with the wide thick writing ‘PLYMOUTH’ at the bottom. This car badge looked like a three-tip silver star with a much longer top tip. It was surrounded by a thin silver ring and put on top of the thicker shield of blue (on the left) and red (on the right) colors, which was also framed in silver. The badge resembles Chrysler logo from the 50s a bit, seeing how their own logo featured two curves – a narrow long and a wide short one – on top of each other.

The name isn’t inspired by any town name – Chrysler chose it simply because it sounded old and trusty. The same logic applied to their first choice of the logo – the Mayflower ship, which is considered one of the many classic American icons. For a long time, however, they used instead a star inside a pentagon instead. 1928 – 1961

1966 Plymouth Barracuda

The Plymouth Barracuda is a two-door Horse car that was manufactured by Plymouth from 1964 to 1974. The first-generation Barracuda, a two-door hardtop fastback, was based on the A-body platform (shared with the Valiant). The first generation featured distinctive wraparound back glass and was marketed from 1964 to 1966.

The Duster was a semi-fastback two-door coupe version of the Valiant sedan that was marketed by Plymouth from 1970 to 1976 model years. The Duster coupe provided the compact-sized Plymouth Valiant with a sporty body style to attract younger customers. Numerous trim and option package variants of the Duster were offered with names that included Feather Duster, Gold Duster, Silver Duster, Space Duster, Duster Twister, Duster 340, and Duster 360. These marketing variations of the basic Duster design targeted customers seeking economy, cargo capacity, and/or performance. During its development, the car was a $15 million effort to update the Valiant for the 1970 model year, though the Valiant badge appeared only on the first model year Dusters.

The Plymouth GTX is an automobile introduced as the Belvedere GTX in 1967 by Plymouth. It was positioned as a mid-sized upscale-trimmed performance muscle car through the 1971 model year and positioned as a "gentleman's muscle car." The GTX optioned Belvedere was differentiated by a blacked-out grille and special rear fascia, fiberglass simulated hood scoops with optional racing stripes, a chrome pop-open fuel filler cap, and a tachometer mounted on the center console. Standard was Plymouth's 440 cu in V8 engine called the "Super Commando 440" rated at 375 hp and the mighty 426 cu in Hemi was available as an option. Along with these big block powerplants, the GTX models were delivered with a heavy-duty suspension system as standard.
