There has been lots going on again this weekend with the arrival of many tall ships and naval vessels for the river festival. For once the sun was shining and it was glorious on the waterfront.

The Albert Dock is a complex of dock buildings and warehouses in Liverpool, England. Designed by Jesse Hartley and Philip Hardwick, it was opened in 1846, and was the first structure in Britain to be built from cast iron, brick and stone, with no structural wood. As a result, it was the first non-combustible warehouse system in the world.

The site encompasses a trio of landmarks, built on the site of the former George's Dock and referred to since at least 1998 as "The Three Graces ". They are the Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building and Port of Liverpool Building.
